本作は、RETONAが建つ箱根・桃源台周辺の地形や湖畔の曲線をモチーフに、この土地がもつ自然の構造と性質を、一枚の立体レリーフとして抽象化したアートです。
右（東）側には、大涌谷に連なる火山性の地形を反映し、鉄分を含ませた素材に腐食や酸化のプロセスを与えることで、時間とともに変化する表情を取り入れています。左（西）側には芦ノ湖を象徴する穏やかな領域として、鉄分をほとんど含まない素材を用い、静かな質感を残しています。
火山と湖、動と静。対照的な二つの性質はひとつの面の中で連続し、人と犬が共に歩んだ足跡や散策の軌跡と重なりながら、この土地に刻まれる滞在の記憶を、周辺地形を抽象化したかたちで表現しています。
